Question: (Write your answer in the comment section below this post)
What your favorite kitchen gadget is and/or a kitchen gadget that was a complete waste of money for you?

Ex. Favorite: My new favorite kitchen gadget is the spiralizer, which is why I chose this as the giveaway (sorry to those ladies in class who already bought theirs after yesterdays post). Worst: I bought a special knife to cut lettuce so it does not oxidize the greens, but I never use it. It is so much easier and faster to just tear it up with my hands.

  3. I know it's not an uncommon household gadget, but I have been loving my blender these days. Have been starting my mornings with a green(s) smoothie - has been a great way to jump start the day :)

  4. My favorite kitchen gadget has been my Magic Bullet. I use that thing a lot...usually for smoothies, but now Laura introduced me to the oatmeal pancakes Jess posted awhile back and I love making them now...it's so quick and easy to clean up. Also, I finally bought an apple corer..I have never been so excited to eat apples now!

  5. My favorite is my juicer, very easy and fresh juice is so refreshing a delicious, great way to get your veggies in! It is a pain to clean but always worth it!

  6. Hi Jess! Not sure if this counts as a gadget, but my all time favorite kitchen items are the Shun Knives that Justin bought me for Christmas two years ago! It was always so hard to cut up my fresh vegitables (especially my favorite buternut squash!) with dull clearance sale knives. Now all the vegtables don't stand a chance against my Shun knives :)

  7. I second Katie's comment about the juicer...I've had some amazing juices in it...Such an easy way to get in your servings of fruits and veggies in a quick way. I LOVE Apple, kiwi, strawberry...YUM! All natural too! No additives or anything else... ;0)

  10. I love kitchen gadgets! It's so hard to pick a favorite. I think right now my favorite would be either my garlic press or my air popper. I add garlic to everything and the air popper because I love popcorn and this way you can don't have to cook it in oil and can use your own ingredients for flavoring (like using agave instead of sugar to make your own kettlecorn). The biggest waste of money was a mini food processor because it gets jammed all the time. I would love one of these for an easier way to make veggie pasta. :)

  11. My favorite is probably my VitaMix blender - I'm constantly amazed at how that thing works! Probably least favorite would be magic bullet - stuff would always get stuck.

  12. My least favorite tool is a pot I was given for Christmas. It is a Wolfgang Puck pot that has a strainer within the pot that can be removed to cook noodles/ pasta. It is rather large and I really do not cook noodles that often especially now that I am on the Paleo Diet. My favorite tool would be the magic bullet. I love it because it is small and easy to clean. I also like that you can take the cup with you, so I can make my protein shake and take it with me in my car. The only thing I do not like is that there are a LOT of little parts that come with the product and that takes up more space in my small kitchen! I have been tempted to purchase the VitaMix Blender especially after watching Jess use it and clean it with in 5 minutes on her you tube video.

  13. I LOVE to cook, and love just about every kitchen gadget I have. One fun on is my spice grinder. I can grind my own cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, or any other whole spice into a fresh ground spice. It makes the flavors so much more intense - and so much healthier - when you have freshly ground spices.

My least used item is my mini-prep Cuisinart food processor. It just doesn't hold enough to make it worthwhile.

  14. My fav is the food processor. It's a little on the bulky side, but things come out perfect in it. The thing that was a total waste of money for me was the plastic chopper that has an arm that comes down on your onion or tomato and supposedly chops it perfectly. Not so much. It just smashes your produce.

  15. My favorite kitchen gadget that I recently purchased was a scale. I can now weight all my meats and portions foods correctly. Jess kept saying a scale would take me to the next level and I truly believe its pretty awesome.

  16. The kitchen gadget that was a complete waste of money for me was this hard-boiled egg peeler thing. You tap the end of the egg on a sharp needle like thing and then set the egg in the contraption then push down and the shell was supposed to come off in one motion. We used up a dozen eggs trying to get the thing to work. Even when it did take the shell off, it took the whole white with it and you were just left with the yolk. It's been up in the top cupboard that I can't reach since that first day.

  17. I guess my fave gaget is the salad spinner my mother-in-law gave us for Christmas last year.

  20. My favorite kitchen gadget is the magic bullet! I use it all the time for all kinds of things like pesto sauces, salsa, and of course protien shakes.

  22. I just recently purchased (about 6 weeks ago) a Pampered Chef Apple Corer & a peeler. They are awesome! I'm not much into gadgets but these are great. I little push & your apple is cored & sliced.

  23. My least favorite gadget is an egg poacher that is supposed to rest on the edge of a pot. It seems to get water in it and the egg escapes, not good ... My favorite is a really cute apron from Anthropologie, it just makes cooking fun:)
